Happiness is a fleeting thing, it comes and goes. But Joy can be developed and made everlasting. Joy is far more profound, as well.

Consideration for all elements of who we are (spiritual, physical, mental, emotional) is essential to that possibility.

If we do not partner our lives with our Creator, we cannot obtain his perspectives, and we will be more "tossed", missing much. We can enjoy a particular intellectual pursuit, but carried too far, may leave us bereft of that human bond we crave and need.

If we lull ourselves into "feeling our way along" we miss necessary understanding.

If there is little or no room in life for the right and regular expression of affection and sexual desire, love dies.

Substantial lack in any area will stunt progress. And of course we must walk before we can run, but we must walk to get there at all.

Taken as a whole, we can be very complex or very straightforward. I feel it's the lack of balance that cripples us most, and adds to the appearance of complexity in us.

So in order, one creates Vision (Dreams), develops Purpose, establishes Goals, and commits to Directed Action. To have meaning, all these things must be done in harmony with one's values and with consideration for all of the composite human qualities.

So if you suffer from a low EQ (as I do), you could make a new choice. Raise it.

"It is sad to waste that precious liquor of life lamenting one's present condition, when one could equally well, and with far greater satisfaction, improve it". -Descarte (I think)

............And if your intent is just, there will be joy in the doing. ;-)
