A BRIEF HISTORY OF HYPERMEDIA CORPORATION:

• A hypertext usage manual was prototyped for Terry Smith, then at Landmark Graphics Corporation, in 1987 by Dr. Dennis Moreau and others at the USL, Lafayette, Lousiana.
• A hyermedia atlas of stratigraphic outcrops was prototyped by Roice Nelson, then at Landmark Graphics Corporation, with Ward Abbott, then at Occidental Petroleum, in 1988.
• Andrew Dove, then at Landmark Graphics Corporation, specified how the stratigraphic atlas could become a general hypermedia tool in 1989.
• In 1990, Landmark stopped work on the hypermedia project and Roice Nelson purchased the rights to the software in September the same year.
• Hypermedia eXchange Corporation became a Texas company on 04 January 1991.
• The company was renamed HyperMedia Corporation 05 May 1992 as a response to the effect of the downturn in the oil industry on sales.
• The first HyperEdge Expert Network Breakfast meeting, 09 September 1993, to focus efforts on consulting instead of tools.
• INTERNET World Wide Web Server on-line, 13 May 1994.

Board of Directors:

• A.H. (Alex) Massad, Past President of Mobil Oil Corporation, resigned from Board 05Dec95.

• John Mouton, Retired Co-Founder of Landmark Graphics, resigned from Board 13Dec96.

• H. Roice Nelson, Jr., Co-Founder of HyperMedia Corporation and Landmark Graphics Corporation, took over ownership 01Jan96.
