This slide summarizes the points about geology made when discussing lightning data. I anticipate friends from universities and the oil industry will visit us or our condo over the coming years. As these folks visit, I will let SUU know and I anticipate there will be some very interesting geology lectures available to SUU students and faculty over the coming years. I can probably arrange for professional society distinguished lecturers to give talks here in Cedar. Maybe we can even turn outstanding geologic talks into Cedar Talk, like TED talks, only focused on geology and field trips to the surrounding area. As students, if you are interested in geology or geophysics seek me out, or Gary Player, or I can point you to other geologists in the area who will be willing to mentor you. There is a need for geolgists in industry, and so there are scholarships available, conventions and workshops students can attend at discounts or get their expenses covered to be able to attend. There are also funds available which can be targeted for research funds, or to support local projects involving geology. Hopefully Dynamic Measurement LLC, my lightning analysis company, will be able to set up some lightning research projects in Southern Utah in the next couple of years. It is very interesting to me the impact of geology on lightning strike locations and attributes.
