The material in this presentation is mostly screen captures of 3-D images generated in a Virtual Reality Modeling Language or similar VRML. It is difficult with this type of presentation to show the advantages of being able to study data and information in a scale independent dynamic 3-D virtual environment. The difference has been compared to the difference between looking at a 10X15 centimeter photo and going to an IMAX movie. When we experience a truly dynamic 3-D environment, ideally with as many senses as possible, we find ourselves as `one with the data.' The simplest displays become something we study for extended periods of time in an attempt to understand all of the subtle, but complex spatial relationships.
