Hi Roice,

We had a wonderful 4th of July celebration with your Roice. He came down to our house around 5:30 we visited for a bit while we were still packing everything to take with us to the park. He was driving his new truck which I am sure you have heard about by now. I just wanted to tell you and Marti that you have raised a wonderful son, what an honor he must be to you. We were with several other families who have mentioned to me what a polite and nice young man he was.

We went to a park called Wilderness Park, it's on a hill a quarter of a mile from my house, right in the middle of the suburbs. When you get inside you feel like you are in the mountains. There are two ponds with fish, turtles, & ducks. We had a special treat because a mother duck had just come to the park with about 10 little ones. We all had fun feeding the ducks & turtles, racing aluminum foil boats down the creek and eating ribs until we were full. When it came time to watch the fireworks we had a perfect view of the display at Wilson Park, a few miles away in Torrance. We could also see, in the distance fireworks in Long Beacg, Carson, El Camino College, San Pedro and other cities around the area.

We came home after to watch the Mars landing on the news and ended up watching a movie too. Chuck the kids and I all really enjoyed ahving Roice over and we hope we get to see him more. He went home with an open invitation to come here any time, hungry or not. There are a couple of young men in our ward that are his age who we are going to hook him up with. They are both snowboarders and one of them, Jason Checkets, has his own body board company and logo and is doing quite well at his venture. I told Roice about them so I will figure out something fun we can all do together so he can meet them.

Anyway, thanks for bringing up such a good kid. It's fun having some more family close to us. I'm looking forward to seeing you in August.

Love, Di
