 If data are organized, patterns
emerge. This is true whether the data are of a scientific or a
religious origin. A key step to understanding data and
identifying context tied to a specific purpose is to find
natural ways to organize the data. Although this approach is
common for scientific data, it is not widely used to understand
the scriptures. One of the ways this book is organized is
around scriptural patterns I have recognized in my studies.
Figure 12 shows an example of color coded
patterns in my scriptures. I find these patterns extremely
useful in better understanding the scriptures and in providing a
scientific view of the spiritual.

A personal example of patterns which occurs on both axes of the science/religion matrix is the health code I choose to follow. I do not drink alcohol, coffee, or tea, nor do I smoke nor chew tobacco, nor use other addictive drugs. This is just plain weird to many of my scientific and religious colleagues. It is a health code tied to my faith. I find the pattern of God providing a health code through his prophets and apostles is well established in the scriptures.

 For instance, in Leviticus 10:9,
Numbers 6:3, Isaiah 5:22, I Corinthians 6:10, and Ephesians 5:18
we are taught not to drink wine nor strong drink. The
detailed do’s and don’ts of the Mosaic Law Health Code are
summarized in
Deuteronomy 14:3-211.44
and Table 2.
