. . . 031101 Infrastructure

. . .

sorry: i havent been able to travel to get to email yet: i kept expecting to but the telephone line infrastructure is so bad that the line is always cut unless im in cotonou: we got lucky today and its working now: i was in cotonou a couple of weeks ago, but again; the internet was so slow i got out one email to melanie (which i guess she didnt get since you said she hasnt heard from me) in an hour: technology is more frustrating than it is help here: so i will probably not be on email much:

other than avoiding technology; everything is wonderful: i have a mass email written out but i cant send it cause they wont let me have access to a floppy drive: as for calling, i dont have a phone, but i think i can get one of the facilitators to let me use their phone so you can call on sundays, or every other week: the phone lines are finicky but people have had the most luck calling at 9:00 pm my time which is 3;00 pm your time. tomorrow, i will try to find a way to call you with my att calling card and have you call me back: i hope that sounds alright!? i would love to be able to get melanie on three way if thats possible:

as for mail, use your judgement: just open everything and if its an ad, toss it. if its about lowering interest rates for student loans, toss it (mine will be deferred after the grace period is over because of peace corps). if its a letter from someone; foward it, etc: i guess summarizing stuff over email if it looks important sounds good:

ill try to get my mass email out about benin asap:

i miss you guys! and im really sorry for making you worry; love you, sara
