Judith and her maid put Holofernes' head on a dish and cover it. The dead army leader lays on the right, with his arms still seemingly struggling. The arms are in harmony with the arms of his armour, on the left.

This is a fresco in one of the corners of the Sistine Chapel, on the side of the entrance. In the other corner is the fresco with David killing Goliath, another episode where a jewish hero kills the enemy.
