Real-Time Well Execution be accommodated by the Immersive Drilling Planner, which was started developing at ARCO, and is being continued at the BP Center for Visualization at the University of Colorado at Boulder under the direction of Geoff Dorn (web site is http://www.Colorado.EDU/Research/bpVisCenter/Research_ImmersiveDrilling.htm. Geoff's team has successfully started the IDP consortium - had the first meeting in late May. We also have an agreement with TSURF for commercialization of the Drilling Planner. A desktop version of the current version of the application should be available later this year. (The immersive version will take a little longer to come to market). Click Here for some photos of the facilities and examples of immersive well planning are included in this Best Practice.
