Corey Grua.

. . .

Welcome to "the engines of my love," a regular review of why I love you, Martha Ellyn Sharp Nelson, and no other woman.

I love you because you had a nice conversation with Corey Grua last Sunday evening at Susan Keller's farewell Open House. I was reading Time Magazine on Wednesday night when at about 9:00 Corey showed up at the door and came in. He had a tape and a book, aked about how I was doing, told me briefly about his visit with you on Sunday, and said he is the new High Priest Group Leader, your Home Teacher, and that Steve Feil will be my new Home Teacher. The tape and book were by Margaret Wheatley, and he thought I would enjoy them and asked me to pass the tape on to you after I finished. I did enjoy the tape on the way to and returning from Austin. There are a lot of good thoughts, and a lot of thoughts that need to be contemplated and reviewed in detail. I started looking at the book, and will pass it on to you after I finish it. Please get the tape back to Corey by next Sunday so he can return it to the company library.

On the way back from Austin Friday evening I went to College Station and had dinner with Ben and Sarah. Ben cooked and it was pretty good. It was a fried chicken patty, noodles, and a spegetti type sauce. There was also some fresh garlic bread and milk. They are going to a marriage encounter weekend at Sarah's church in two weekends. They have taken the Meyers-Brigs test, and they will receive some specific feedback on things to watch out for in their marriage. I am more and more impressed with Sarah and with her committment to our son. If it is true that sons marry their Mom's it, means you are also that special. I think so, even if you don't believe I think so. Ben is moving into a new apartment at the end of the month, and there is a lot of preparations starting to be made. For instance, they keep the blinds closed so the landlord won't know Sadie and the cat are still in the house. It is so much fun to see a couple so much in love. It reminds me of our long distance courtship between Salt Lake and Ft. Collins. It is interesting to me how much the church played a role in our courtship. It is interesting to watch Ben and Sarah as they plan to go to the Presbyterian Church in two weeks and they are seeking my tacit approval. It will be interesting to see how Sarah reacts when they have a good Home Teacher at some time in the future.

Corey told me you still care about me. He said you really don't want a Home Teacher for you, but will tolerate one for the sake of the kids. But he said you stressed I need a Home Teacher. Thanks for thinking of me. Thanks for caring. Thanks for all of the good memories. I love you.

I'm interested in sharing why I love you. I know how important the written word is to you, and if you ever feel neglected, ignored, or unloved, and would like an up-to-date bound copy of these lovelets or any subset of these lovelets for any purpose you might have come to mind, please tell me or e-mail your request to rnelson@walden3d.com with the request 'lovelet update.'

With all my love,
Roice
