. . . Dynamic Strategic Partner = Lynn, Inc.

INTRODUCTION

Lynn Incorporated is a geophysical services consulting company, founded in 1985. We specialize in the use of reflection seismic for exploration and reservoir characterization, acquisition design, and Q.C./Q.A., processing direction, interpretation, and anisotropic modeling. During the last ten years, nearly all of our projects have been either multicomponent, 3-D, or 3-D multi-component and seismic anisotropy has always been examined.

our special skills include the development of practical and efficient 3-D P-wave azimuthal techiques for fractured reservoir characterization (acquistion design, processing, and interpretation), as developed in three major projects funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, and used in four subsequent private industry studies.

The programs we use are: Vest 3D-Seis (3-D Interpretation of up to 6 different volumes concurrently), MIRA (synthetic seismograms, AVO modeling, seismic data analysis), Aniseis (Seismic modeling in anisotropic media) Surfer (mapping), Strata (Statistics), Seismic Unix (from Colorado School of Mines), and a complete suite of mainstream business programs.

We use these programs on five desktop Pentium PCs, one Pentium laptop and one Sun Sparcstation. We have the ability to make CD-Rom, and read and write 4 type of tapes, as well as Zip and Jaz disks. Our computers are very well protected against electrical surges, voltage drops, viruses or hardware failures. They are running under Solaris 2.7, Linux Redhat 6.1, Windows NT4.0, Windows 98, and MS-DOS 6.22.

As a company, we exist because we provde the leading technical seismic solutions to geologic and engineering challenges: in a competitive market, we deliver on time and on budget in a professional and congenial manner.

PRINCIPALS

Dr. Heloise Bloxsom Lynn, a consulting geophysicist in Houston since 1984, has specialized in the applications of multicomponent seismology, AVO, and seismic anisotropy for gas exploration and production since 1980. Current work includes fracture detection / characterization projects for the Department of Energy (since 1992) and private industry clients. From 1980-1984 she worked for Amoco Production Company in exploration and applied research in shear waves and anisotropy. In 1975-1976 Heloise processed onshore reflection seismic data for Texaco in Houston, Texas. Her degrees include: Ph.D. in Geophysics (1979) and MS in Exploration Geophysics (1978), Stanford University; and B.A. in Geology-Math (1975), Bowdoin College, Maine.

Special capabilities: use of seismic (reflection seismic, VSP, borehole logging) to solve geologic problems for oil and gas exploration and production; seismic acquisition design, pre-acquisition modeling, monitoring and quality checking during onshore acquisition, processing supervision, and data interpretation using all available geologic data. Multi-component seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation.

Special interests also include: uses of 3D full-azimuth full-offset P-wave data and shear-wave data for determination of the azimuth and relative density of vertical oriented fractures, and the orientation of the in-situ unequal horizontal stresses; shear-wave (multi-component) acquisition, processing, and interpretation; solutions of problems in the processing of difficult seismic datasets. Prospect generation, complex imaging problems, migration; integration of all geologic information with the seismic inforation for the interpretation; seismic stratigraphic projects.

Dr. Wallace E. Beckham, B.A. in geology, MS and Ph.D. in Geophysics (1968) from the Washington University in St. Louis. He joined Texaco Exploration and Production Department and has worked in various aspects of geophysical exploration from 1968 to 1994. In the past 12 years his experience has been in multicomponent surface and borehole seismic, processing and interpretation of P- and S- wave reflection data and sonic dipole log data, and anisotropy modeling. He has been working as a consultant in P- and PS- wave interpretation and data analysis at Lynn Incorporated since 1995. His current interests are in multicomponent 3-D surface and borehole seismic, seismic anisotropy, and the characterization of fractured reservoir rocks.

Yues S. Simon, Belgian, Graduate in Architecture (1983, Bruxelles). Was employed by a local administration as an Architect and Town Planner untill 1989; Independent Architect in Bruxelles from 1989 to 1992. Has lived in Houston since 1993, and has worked as a system administrator and geophysical technician at Lynn, Inc. since 1994.
