Seismic data has a lot of fluid and lithology and geologic information in it. However, the information is only as good as the acquisition and processing. The seismic section below shows a potential fault trap as displayed on a 2-D seismic section. The fault is not well defined. The amplitudes are interesting as possible fluid markers, and not as conclusive as they could be with better processing, or especially with properly migrated 3-D seismic data.
