This slide shows the combined Dip Reconstruction of the Type Outcrop the 1st mile up Cedar Canyon. I have not seen this type of dip reconstruction type logs in the literature. I think this represents an example of an excellant research project within walking distance of SUU. And I know the industry needs trained geologists and geoscientists. Frank Brown, the Dean of Geosciences at the University of Utah, gave me the numbers on the graph on the right. The "U" has more than doubled the numner of undergraduate students the last 5 years. Frank tells me students always know what is happening before the professors. This is another reason I would like to see geology become more mainstream at SUU. The oil and gas industry prefers Masters Degrees, and a Bachelors in Geology at SUU with demonstrated practical experience, like digging ditches, can place any of you interested in the career of a lifetime.
